Zenith ambassador Alain Robert - a French skyscraper climber nicknamed Spiderman - scaled Doha's highest tower (The Torch) on April 12th, 2012. Robert officially climbed The Torch Doha (300m high) for the first time without a safety rope and harness. Guiness Book of Records was present at this exciting event, organized in collaboration with Aspire Zone Foundation. As always, Alain’s faithful timepiece, the El Primero Striking 10th, was right there with him.
Well-known for unassisted climbs, the 50-year-old climbing pioneer has conquered more than eighty-five giant structures, including the Empire State Building, Chicago's Willis Tower and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. Of these numerous giant structures around the globe, he has scaled most of them with only his bare hands and climbing shoes.
