At the dawn of the 20th century, Zenith was among the first to build aviation instruments… It is therefore no coincidence that Zenith served as official Timekeeper for international acrobatic aircraft race held on June 9th 2012 at Lake Jarun in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. Zenith handled the timing of the performances by the six top aerobatic pilots. At the Zenith booth, a collection of pilot's watches naturally attracted the attention of all invitees. The Pilot Montre d'Aeronef Type 20 (issued in a 250-piece limited edition) and the Pilot Doublematic were on display.
This Pilot collection was specially created for devotees of aviation and its history, mechanical enthusiasts, and all those enamoured with wide-open spaces. It symbolises discovery and exploration as well as the love of adventure and the development the latter brings. Many spectators, journalists and numerous elite TV crews from overseas came to watch this spectacular competition and thereby spread the fame of the race and the lively Mediterranean pocket-size city across the globe.
