The Future is Green
The future can only be green: To follow up on the brand's desire to reduce its environmental impact, ZENITH has created an internal environment committee, whose objective is to implement actions aimed at limiting our impact on environment and meet the targets of the LVMH group's LIFE program.
AN LVMH COMMITMENT: THE LIFE PROGRAM
AN LVMH COMMITMENT: THE LIFE PROGRAM
The LIFE (LVMH Initiatives For the Environment) program was created in 2012 to elevate the environmental performance of LVMH and its various Maisons in all categories and segments. This program makes environmental imperatives an integral part of management processes and facilitates the creation of new environmental management tools while encouraging innovative practices at the different brands.
LVMH took its environmental commitments to a new level in 2016 with the launch of LIFE 2020, which sets four concrete objectives shared by all Maisons: a Product objective to mitigate the environmental footprint of product creation, a Supply Chain objective to more closely monitor the traceability and conformity of the raw materials used to create its maisons’ exceptional products, a CO2 objective that is on track to Reduce CO2 emissions by at least 25% by 2020, and finally a Site objective, where all sites target an improvement of at least 10% in environmental performance indicators including water and energy consumption and waste production, as well as improving their energy efficiency by 15%.
RESPONSIBLE WATCHMAKING: ZENITH IS RJC-CERTIFIED
RESPONSIBLE WATCHMAKING: ZENITH IS RJC-CERTIFIED
The RJC is an international organization working to promote ethical, social and environmentally responsible practices, with respect for human rights, from one end of the jewelry industry to the other, from extraction to the sales counter. The Swiss Watchmaking Manufacture ZENITH is proud to be RJC-certified for having fulfilled the standards established by the organization's certification system.
KIMBERLEY PROCESS: "CLEAN" DIAMONDS
KIMBERLEY PROCESS: "CLEAN" DIAMONDS
The Kimberley process is the product of a joint initiative between governments, the industry and civil society. Adopted in 2003 by more than 75 countries, it aims to curb the trade of rough diamonds from areas of conflict, as defined by the United Nations. The Kimberley certification process ensures, through the issuance of a certificate, that no rough diamond that has crossed an international border between two signing countries has come from an area of conflict. Based on the written guarantees provided by its suppliers, ZENITH certifies that all of its diamonds are cut from legitimate sources and are not involved in armed conflict.
OPTIMIZATION AND EFFICIENCY ACROSS THE BOARD
In terms of day-to-day changes to ensure a more sustainable, environmentally conscious operation for the manufacture and its surroundings, ZENITH has undertaken several actions, including a mobility program that promotes the use of public transport and ride sharing. ZENITH is also committed to reduce its use of plastic, from the packaging of its watches to single-use plastics in everything from production to drinking water fountains. As far as efficiency, the ZENITH manufacture relies on renewable energy sources, and has even become an energy provider for the watchmaking town of Le Locle.
